Founder Bonnie Yang, started the Make Nice Company when she wasn’t able to find an alternative to dish soap in plastic bottles. Her and her partner were switching out their body wash and shampoos with zero-waste solid soap alternatives but she wasn’t able to find anything for her dishes. So, she decided, why not try to make it?
This became a whole deep dive into learning to make soap, figuring out and testing what the best recipe would be to cut grease, and what the ideal shape would be when using it.
She wanted the 100% natural ingredients to be simple, nothing you can’t pronounce, and vegan. After many months of making samples and testing them with friends, she finally came up with the right recipe and the rest has grown from there.
