Looking for Canadian made cleaners that are biodegradable and zero-waste? Look no further than this collection of myni cleaning tablets and kits.
FYI, filo has recently rebranded as myni.
This new line of eco cleaners includes spray cleaner tablets, foaming hand soap tablets. kits and individual reusable wheat straw bottles (foamer pump and spray bottles).
Made in Quebec, the cleaning concentrate tablets don't contain any parabens, artificial colors or dyes, and aren't packaged in plastic. The company's packaging is in fact - compostable.
Have a look at the ingredients on the back of your favorite cleaning products (if they even show this information). There’s a good chance the first ingredient is water. Placed first in the list, tells you it’s the main ingredient.
Most cleaning products contain about 95% water. This assumes that only 5% is actually cleaning product - leaving you paying for primarily water, and plastic.
What's more, up to 91% of the plastics you toss in your blue box can't be effectively recycled - which means that plastic bottle could wind up in the ocean, along with the 700 million other containers Canadians empty each year. Unrecyclable plastics break down into tiny particles that settle into nature, into our water, and even into our food.
At myni, they decided to address this problem at the source. They produce, and sell their products without using water or plastic. The company's cleaning products are concentrated down to the size of a quarter. When dissolved in water, the tablet transforms into something that looks, and feels a little more like your conventional cleaning product.
myni is 300 times lighter
200 times smaller
and uses 1000 times lessenergy
In addition, the Quebec-based company uses materials that are good for both people, and the planet.
And myni is proud to have found a way to revolutionize the cleaning product sector into eco-respectability.
Marie-Helene founded the company in 2020, dedicated to providing people with products that are natural and safe for both the family, and the environment.
Her lightbulb moment? When she discovered that the cleaning products she had been using were so corrosive they had penetrated right through her plumbing. Since that revelation, Marie-Helene has begun to teach others about the ingredients their traditional cleaning products are made from.
The findings are clear: most commercial cleaning products are harmful to the health of both your family, and our planet.
In fact, they're often formulated using carcinogenic ingredients. And again, these products are mostly water. So in addition to making the consumer pay for water, we end up spreading these liquids all over the planet.
And worse still, are the numbers of plastic containers that can't be recycled.
These concerns formed the genesis of myni, with the goal of reducing the environmental impact of the cleaning products we use, while offering something safe for the whole family.
